Chris Hughton confident Black Stars ‘know what to do’ in clash against Mozambique

Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, asserts that his players are well-informed about the necessary steps to achieve the desired outcome in their final group game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Ghana is set to face Mozambique on Monday evening, aiming to secure their initial three points of the tournament after facing setbacks in their first two matches.

The Black Stars suffered a defeat in their opening game against Cape Verde and later relinquished their lead twice to settle for a draw against Egypt in the second fixture.

With just one point from the draw against the Pharaohs, Ghana enters the last round of fixtures, where a victory could significantly enhance their chances of advancing to the next stage of the competition

Addressing the press ahead of Monday’s game, Hughton said: “The players know what it will take to get a result. There are no easy games in this tournament

“We have to be physically and mentally prepared for this.”

A win for Ghana would give them four points and move them to second, depending on the results of the fixture between Egypt and Cape Verde.
