Manchester United is currently exploring the possibility of signing Chelsea’s defender Marc Cucurella as one of the potential left-back recruits before the upcoming transfer deadline, according to information provided by ESPN’s Rob Dawson.
This move is aimed at compensating for the absence of Luke Shaw, who might not return until November due to a muscle injury. Additionally, Tyrell Malacia’s knee injury has put him in a similar extended period of recovery on the sidelines.
Brandon Williams, the third-choice left-back, who was part of the preseason tour in the United States, has been loaned to Ipswich Town.
Consequently, Diogo Dalot, primarily a right-back, had to step in on the left during the match against Forest.
Reliable sources have informed ESPN that Manchester United is actively considering several options, including Marc Cucurella, Marcos Alonso, and Sergio Reguilón, to bolster their left-back position.
Despite this, ESPN’s Julien Laurens holds the belief that Chelsea would be eager to offload Cucurella to Manchester United.
