Check out why Real Madrid’s official social media accounts congratulated Ferrari F1 star Carlos Sainz’s dad

Real Madrid conveyed a social media message to the father of Formula 1 sensation Carlos Sainz, acknowledging his remarkable accomplishments this week.

Carlos Sainz Sr., who is the father of Scuderia Ferrari F1 driver Carlos Sainz Jr, secured his fourth Dakar Rally victory.

The 61-year-old achieved this historic feat by triumphing in the renowned endurance race in Saudi Arabia while driving an electric Audi. Real Madrid’s official social media accounts extended their congratulations to Sainz Sr for his victory on Friday morning.

In a message published on X, formerly Twitter, Real Madrid said: “Congratulations on winning your fourth Dakar Rally, @CSainz_oficial!

It’s an honour for our club that a Madridista like you, a Real Madrid honorary member, continues to make history while adding to your legendary status. You are one of the greatest champions. Congratulations!”

Carlos Sainz Sr. is not only a passionate supporter of Real Madrid but also shares a significant history with the club. Prior to pursuing a career in motorsports, he played football and was even offered a trial by Los Blancos in the 1970s.

In later years, Sainz Sr. sought a role in Real Madrid’s leadership, running for the position of vice president after Florentino Perez and Fernando Martin both resigned as presidents.

With Audi discontinuing its participation in the Dakar Rally, it remains uncertain whether Sainz Sr. will defend his title in the upcoming year. In the meantime, he will closely follow Real Madrid’s pursuit of the La Liga title.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team currently stands second in the table, trailing Girona by one point but maintaining a seven-point lead over arch-rivals Barcelona. Meanwhile, Sainz Jr., part of the Ferrari team, anticipates the upcoming F1 season, set to commence in Bahrain on March 2, 2024.
