She was eventually freed in December 2022.

Griner receives abuse from NBA fans over her speech
NBA fans have previously attacked Brittney for her voice. “I was shaken af when I heard Brittney Griner’s voice,” a fan tweeted, implying that she wasn’t prepared for her voice to sound a specific way. It appears that she was subjected to the same offensive comments when she was a little child as well.
It was difficult for her to see herself doing anything to indicate that she was any more unique than people already believed, she said in her book. “I was already getting picked on for being odd, for looking like a guy, for having a deep voice,” she wrote.
This would be the first time Brittney publicly discussed the issues she had with her gender or appearance.
She is a homosexual woman, and it appears that her schoolmates didn’t share this viewpoint. They verbally attacked Griner, and it has affected her to this day.
What other revelations did she make?
Griner also remembered the incident when she was expelled from the basketball team after getting into a brawl. Her father Raymond Griner also seems to have been worried by the fact that she appeared and behaved differently from the others. She also struggled at school. After all, she didn’t fit in with the other females because she was different.
Brittney has achieved incredible heights in the present, to sum it up. She has overcome her issues and appears to be succeeding in both her personal and professional lives.
She continues to serve as an example for everyone in her vicinity, as was already established.
