Brentford announces signing of Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho

Brentford have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool on a five-year contract, as confirmed by the West London club on Monday.

Although financial terms weren’t disclosed, reports in the British media suggest the deal is valued at approximately £27.5 million ($35.10 million).

The 21-year-old Carvalho, who has represented England at various youth levels before switching his allegiance to Portugal at the Under-21 level, joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2022.

Last season, he was loaned out to Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and English Championship side Hull City.

Carvalho made 21 appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals, and also netted in preseason victories against Arsenal and Manchester United this summer.

Additionally, on Monday, Serie A club AC Milan announced the acquisition of Brazilian defender Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur.

Emerson, who has been capped 10 times by Brazil, signed a contract with Milan until June 2028, with an option for a one-year extension.

The 25-year-old defender, who previously played for Barcelona and Brazil’s Atletico Mineiro, made 101 appearances for Spurs across all competitions.

He will wear the No. 22 jersey at Milan.
