Technical Director of the French club Bastia, Eric Joel, praised the facilities at Kenpong Football Academy, describing them as meeting international standards.
Joel visited the modern Kenpong Academy in Winneba after arriving in Ghana last Friday.
“This is magnificent,” he noted. “It matches international standards. I must admit I am highly impressed with what I have witnessed here, considering the capital-intensive nature of projects like this,” he remarked.
The Frenchman is visiting Ghana at the invitation of Kenpong, following a collaborative agreement between Kenpong Football Academy and Bastia.

He stated that, with the facilities of Kenpong, the agreement would be beneficial to both parties.
“With this facility, I believe our collaborative efforts will reach new heights. I have drawn a lot of positives from this visit and believe it will help our cause.”
As part of a collaborative program, three players from Kenpong Academy are currently training with the French club Bastia.
Eric Joel, along with businessman Kennedy Agyepong (Kenpong) and Sudan coach Kwasi Appiah, will meet with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif,, today.
Joel is also scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to the academy’s patron, former president J.A. Kufuor, to discuss the future of the academy.
Kenpong has pledged to continue collaborating closely with Bastia to benefit both the academy and Ghanaian football as a whole.
The meeting with the minister will focus on how Bastia can support the Winneba-based academy and contribute to the development of football in Ghana.
