Atleti and Barça still discussing João Félix’s future

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona hold divergent expectations regarding the summer deal involving forward João Félix, as reported by Diario Sport.

Félix, 24, has delivered noteworthy performances while on loan with the Blaugrana this season, tallying three goals and four assists in 14 matches across various competitions.

Atleti is firm in its stance that they want the Portuguese international to depart permanently in the summer and is actively seeking discussions with Barca to facilitate an early deal.

Initially seeking €85 million for his transfer, Atletico Madrid is now open to bids around €70 million, having originally acquired Félix from Benfica for €126 million in 2019.

In contrast, Barcelona insists that no decision will be made until the end of the season and is unwilling to meet the €70 million valuation but is open to approving another loan.

There’s a possibility of including a clause for a permanent transfer, albeit at a reduced amount or one that can be discounted when due.

Félix, expressing a strong preference for Barcelona regardless of offers from the Premier League or Saudi Arabia, does not intend to entertain alternative offers.

This situation is expected to linger as an ongoing saga throughout the summer transfer window, with both clubs standing firm on their respective demands.
