Barcelona and Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club have come to an agreement for the loan of Ansu Fati until June 30, 2024, with no option for a permanent transfer.
Ansu Fati, who spent his formative years at Barça, will continue his footballing development in the Premier League. The striker first joined FC Barcelona at the age of 10 in 2012, transitioning from the Sevilla youth setup.
He began with the U12A team and swiftly progressed through the ranks, ultimately reaching the first team.
Donning the number 31 jersey, he made his debut in 2019 at the tender age of 16 in a league match against Betis. Just six days later, he netted his first goal for the club against Osasuna in another league fixture.
Ansu Fati’s statistics from the 2019/20 season underscored the young forward’s quality. In that campaign, he made 33 appearances, including 15 as a starter, scoring eight goals and providing one assist.
Moreover, he established several records, such as becoming the youngest starter in the club’s history and the youngest player to score and assist in a league game, among others.
In the 2020/21 season, Fati was officially included in the first team and took on the number 22 jersey. However, what seemed like a season destined to solidify his status as one of Europe’s premier strikers was marred by a knee injury that required surgery, causing him to miss a significant portion of the campaign.
Now sporting the number 10 shirt, the striker made his comeback in September 2021 and, since his return, has participated in 69 matches and scored 16 goals.
