After seeing his AS Roma team lose the Europa League final to Sevilla on May 31, Jose Mourinho was seen cursing at referee Anthony Taylor.
Some of the judgements made by the English referee did not make Mourinho happy. After a one-all tie in regulation and extra time, the closely contested battle had to be decided in penalty shootouts.
Roma missed two penalty kicks, allowing Sevilla to win the Europa League for the seventh time. That was Mourinho’s first-ever European championship game. The Portuguese manager hurriedly grabbed his trophy and walked off the pitch.
A video has now surfaced online where Mourinho is heard shouting expletives. Italian Football TV reports that the insults were directed at Anthony Taylor and his team.
The incident happened in what appears to be the parking lot, with Mourinho shouting towards someone not captured in the video. He interchanges between English and Italian languages.
“It's a F**king disgrace…"

“You are a (expletive) disgrace.”
Premier League referee Taylor made a couple of controversial decisions during the game. He first awarded a penalty to Sevilla after Luis Ocampos had been brought down. However, after a VAR review, he rescinded the decision.
Anthony Taylor’s decisions
Premier League referee Taylor made a couple of controversial decisions during the game. He first awarded a penalty to Sevilla after Luis Ocampos had been brought down. However, after a VAR review, he rescinded the decision.
Minutes later, Roma thought they deserved a penalty of their own when Ivan Rakitic handled the ball, but Taylor stood his ground and waved the complaints away.
A total of 14 yellow cards were given in the tempered game, with Mourinho criticising Taylor in his post-match comments.
“Next year we won’t be playing the Champions League and that’s a good thing because we’re not made for it,’ he said.
Mourinho throws away his silver medal
At the same time, Sports Brief has reported that Mourinho threw his runners-up medal into the crowd seconds after receiving it on May 31.
It was the first time that Mourinho had lost a European final and the Portuguese manager was, as expected, not impressed about it.

Bizarre scenes rocked the medal awarding ceremony when Mourinho broke ranks with his team and went for his medal alone.

As soon as the medal was hung around his neck, ‘the Special One’ removed it and made a beeline for down the tunnel.
