Ghana Black Stars’ captain, Andre Ayew, achieved a significant milestone in his football career by reaching 200 appearances in the French Ligue 1.
His latest appearance for Le Havre on Friday night marked this achievement, despite his team’s 1-0 loss to Nice as they continue their battle to stay in the top-flight.
Andre Ayew’s journey in Ligue 1 has seen him represent three clubs. He began at Olympique Marseille, where he made 160 appearances and scored 44 goals, starting his professional career.
He then had a loan spell at Lorient, featuring in 22 Ligue 1 games and scoring three goals. Ayew returned to France in November 2023, joining Le Havre, where he has played 18 games and scored five goals so far.
In total, Andre Ayew has scored 52 goals and provided 19 assists in his 200 Ligue 1 appearances.
This milestone puts him two appearances ahead of his father, Abedi Pele, in the league. Andre has also scored ten more goals and provided five more assists than his father during their respective Ligue 1 careers.
