Alidu Seidu, the defender for the Black Stars, has travelled to France alongside his mother to finalise his move to Stade Rennais FC.
After a series of attempts, the Red and Black sides have successfully reached an agreement to acquire the Ghanaian defender during the current transfer window.
Clermont Foot had initially rejected three offers from Rennais before both parties came to terms on a deal.
Having showcased his skills with fellow Ligue 1 club, Clermont Foot, the Black Stars defender is anticipated to play a significant role for his new team.
Seidu’s transfer to Rennais is reportedly for a fee of 11 million Euros, along with additional bonuses.
The official unveiling is expected to take place after the conclusion of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Seidu, part of the Black Stars squad that faced challenges in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast, exited the championship in the group stage without securing a victory.
Despite the team’s performance, the 23-year-old Ghanaian defender has been exceptional in the current campaign for Clermont Foot, making 14 appearances and contributing one assist for the club.
