Nigerian maid steals baby, sells for C7,900

A maid named Ruth Okezie, recently hired through an agency, has been accused of selling the baby she was entrusted to care for.

The distressing event unfolded in Shomolu, Nigeria, where Ruth allegedly absconded with the infant at 2 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Following the disappearance, a missing person’s report circulated on social media, prompting a search for the maid and the missing baby.

Eventually, Ruth was located in Ikorodu, but the infant was nowhere to be found.

In a startling revelation, the maid confessed to selling the baby for N800,000, approximately GhC7,900.

Despite the confession, the whereabouts of the infant remain unknown, leaving the family and the community in distress.
