Nigeria 2023 elections: LP’s Ezea beats Enugu Gov Ugwuanyi

Enugu State Governor’s campaign to represent the Enugu North Senatorial District in the National Assembly has been unsuccessful.

At the election held on Saturday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Okechukwu Ezea of the Labour Party defeated Ugwuanyi.

Ugwuanyi received 46,948 votes, placing second to Ezea, who received 104,948 votes to win.

Ugwuanyi, who is serving his second term as governor of Enugu State, ran for election to the red chamber as a representative of the Enugu North District. Before being chosen governor in 2015, he was a representative in the House of Representatives.
