The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) bar association reports that an arrest warrant has been issued for a Kenyan man accused of practicing law without proper qualifications, following his failure to appear in court.
The case has garnered attention from Kenyans since the man was exposed as an unlicensed lawyer last October, sparking a range of reactions from outrage to support and amusement.
At that time, legal authorities in Kenya called on the police to apprehend the individual, who had been practicing law using the alias “Brian Mwenda”.
They alleged that he was an impostor who had assumed the identity of a genuine lawyer named Brian Mwenda Ntwiga.
Subsequently, he surrendered himself to the police.
He was subsequently charged with six offenses, including forgery and identity theft, to which he pleaded not guilty.
