At the age of 73, the co-founder of Touré Kunda, one of Senegal’s most well-known bands, passed away in Paris.
In the 1970s, Ismala Touré and his brother founded the group.
They spent a lot of time in France where they performed songs in six different languages while fusing jazz, rock, and tunes from southern Senegal.
Other well-known musicians and bands, such as Carlos Santana and Talking Heads, worked with the ensemble.
Ismala Touré was a social activist who fought for the rights of homeless people and children.
