Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Koku Anyidoho, has responded to recent comments by the party’s National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, regarding reports of internal struggles for positions by members of the party.
Asiedu Nketiah, also known as General Mosquito, has emphasized the importance of the party remaining focused on winning the 2024 elections.
He has cautioned against discussions about potential appointments and positions within the party, stating that such discussions should only occur after the elections have been won.
““Because we’re convinced that we are there, a lot of people have begun taking positions and fighting over who will be what in the next government. Some people are not only fighting about the positions they will occupy, they are telling all others that they will be the kingmakers and they will be making appointments.
“If we’re not careful, this will dampen the enthusiasm and the spirit of our followers. I want to assure everybody that we’re not there yet. Don’t be fighting about positions, and don’t be talking about who will make appointments. Let’s all go for the hunting first and when we kill the game we can now argue about sharing of the meat,” he stressed while speaking at the outdooring of Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang as John Mahama’s running mate on Wednesday.
Reacting to this, Mr Anyidoho noted that the NDC appears to be interested in sharing positions for themselves to amass wealth instead of focusing on the country’s development.

“This was said at the outdooring of our Running Mate? Whaaat!!! So, after we were once told that the “meat” had been squandered, & the “bones” rudely thrown at us, they are boldly talking about “sharing meat”? Obviously, they believe we have “short memories”. God save Ghana,” another post read.
