Manhyia South: Parliamentary primaries for NAPO replacement slated for July 14 – NPP

New Patriotic Party (NPP) has finalized plans to conduct a parliamentary primary election in the Manhyia South constituency following the selection of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the party’s running mate for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

According to a statement released by the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, nominations will commence on Monday, July 8, 2024, and will close the following day, Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

The election itself is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

“An aspiring parliamentary candidate (APC) shall procure nominations forms after the payment of a non-refundable applicating fee of GH 3000 in bankers draft in favour of the NPP national headquarters, Accra.”

“To successfully file the nomination, an APC shall pay a non-refundable filing fee of gh35,000 in bankers draft in favour of the NPP, Headquarters, Accra,” he stated.

Mr Kodua however indicated that women, youth and persons with disabilities (PWDs) will receive a 50% rebate o the filing fees.
“This means they will be required to pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH17,500. To ensure clarity, we define a youth as an individual between the ages of 18 and 40,” he added.

The NPP General Secretary further noted that no individual shall be denied access to purchase nomination forms.
