‘Brand new’ Ghana-branded ambulance shockingly makes it to Dubai auction fleet

A band new Toyato Hace, branded with Ghana Ambulance Service emblems is parked among a fleet of other vehicles to be auction in UAE capital, Dubai.

This is according to video making rounds on social media, sighted by The Independent Ghana.

The Vehicle which looks very new also has the Ghana Ambulance Service emergence number 112 and is purportedly donated by the World Bank.

Though The independent is unable confirm whether the said vehicle truly belongs to the Ghana Ambulance Service, the two men who recorded the video seemed sure of it, and very shocked at the sight.

According to the man, who made the claims in a viral video, he was on a quest to purchase a vehicle in Dubai when he spotted the ambulance among the vehicles on sale.

Bewildered by the incident, he decided to capture the events on his phone.

“I stepped out in search of a car to buy and behold, this is what I found. Here sits one of Ghana’s ambulances, with the Coat of Arms and other national symbols embossed on them. It’s being sold,” the man, concerned about the situation, is heard saying in the video.

The vehicle in question is white in colour and has the colors of the Ghana flag, Coat of Arms embossed on it as well as stickers with the inscription, “National Ambulance Service Ghana; Timely Care Saves Lives” on one side and “Radiology Specialist Ambulance, Ministry of Health; Funded by World Bank,” at another side.

It is believed to be one of the ambulances which should be operating in the country and assisting the Health Service in saving lives, however, there has been no explanation to how it got to Dubai.

The Health Ministry and the Ghana Health Service are yet to comment on the matter.
