Since its inception in 1974, the ‘Crop Over’ Festival has become an annual event designed to attract tourists and celebrate local culture in Barbados. Beginning in June and culminating on the first Monday in August with the grand Kadooment Day parade, it is regarded as the largest carnival in the Caribbean.
