Ghanaian musician King Promise has firmly rejected calls from some members of the public to distance himself from socialite Efia Odo, citing their long-standing friendship. He explained that their bond was established long before his rise to fame, and has only grown stronger over time.
Expressing his gratitude, the ‘Terminator’ hitmaker highlighted Efia Odo’s unwavering support throughout his music career. He stressed that it would be unreasonable to end their friendship based solely on public opinion. King Promise pointed out that disapproval of her personality is not a sufficient reason to sever ties.
During an interview with YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon, King Promise addressed speculations about their relationship, including rumors of a romantic involvement. He mentioned that even after asking his friends why they dislike her, they couldn’t provide specific reasons, suggesting it might be due to her character. However, he appreciates her uniqueness.
King Promise shared that he has known Efia Odo for about eight years, well before he gained fame, and she has been a constant supporter. He questioned the rationale behind abandoning a supportive friend just because others disapprove of her, stating that it simply doesn’t make sense.
These remarks come after online users urged King Promise to distance himself from Efia Odo, following his loss of the Artiste of the Year award to Stonebwoy at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
