Ghanaian entertainer Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as Lil Win, secured bail of GH¢50,000 and two sureties from the Asokore Mampong District Court subsequent to his arrest on June 3, following an incident involving his vehicle.
Lil Win, who had just left the hospital, was apprehended by officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Manhyia Divisional Command.
The arrest relates to a recent accident involving his vehicle that led to the tragic death of a three-year-old child.
The family of the deceased had been advocating for justice, although the authorities cited Lil Win’s health condition as the cause for the delay in his apprehension.
He faces charges of dangerous driving and causing harm through negligence.
During the court session, the prosecution urged for Lil Win’s availability as the investigation progresses.
His lawyer, Margaret Adjei-Twum, argued for bail, citing her client’s injuries, which included internal bleeding, and the necessity for further medical attention.
She reassured the court that Lil Win, being a prominent figure, would comply with the legal process.
The judge granted bail and set the next hearing for June 27, 2024.
