The Ghanaian public has voiced its disapproval after popular Kumawood actor, Yaw Dabo, disclosed his disappointment with TV show host and business mogul, Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as Delay.
The controversy arose when Dabo accused Delay of turning down his plea for sponsorship.
In a recent interview with Zionfelix, Yaw Dabo shared his side of the story, revealing that he had approached Delay seeking support for his football team.
Specifically, he requested 10 boxes of Delay’s spaghetti and proposed that his team would proudly wear T-shirts featuring her company logo to highlight her as a major sponsor.
However, Dabo expressed his dismay as Delay allegedly rejected his proposal outright.
According to him, Delay explained that her brand exclusively supports only two programs in Ghana, namely Onua Showtime and TV3.
She further justified her decision by asserting that sponsoring Dabo’s football team would not yield any profit for her brand.
The revelation of this rejection deeply hurt Yaw Dabo, who believed he shared a close bond with Delay.
The actor expressed his feelings of betrayal, emphasizing that he never expected such a response from someone he considered a friend.
Since the interview, Ghanaians have taken to social media platforms to criticize Delay for allegedly snubbing Yaw Dabo’s request.
Many fans and followers of the Kumawood actor expressed disappointment in Delay’s decision, questioning the integrity of her brand’s commitment to supporting various ventures.
The incident has sparked a heated debate within the Ghanaian entertainment industry, with fans divided on whether Delay’s decision was justified or if she should have extended her support to Yaw Dabo’s football team.
As the public discourse continues, the fallout between Yaw Dabo and Delay remains a trending topic, highlighting the complexities of celebrity relationships and sponsorship dynamics in the Ghanaian entertainment scene.
