Following their impressive achievements, with Medikal’s Indigo O2 concert and King Promise‘s successful Asia tour, there’s growing talk of Ghanaian artists setting their sights on the iconic O2 Arena.
Alordia, a well-known UK-based Ghanaian event organizer, shared in an interview with Joy Prime that he sees King Promise as a strong contender to headline at the O2 Arena.
In response, King Promise himself expressed keen interest in performing at this prestigious venue.
During a live interview on TV3, he emphasized the importance of proper planning and support, stating that while he’s eager to perform at the O2, it’s crucial to approach such milestones step by step and involve his core audience in the process.
Reflecting on his past experiences performing as a guest artist at the O2 Arena three times, King Promise described the atmosphere as “grand” and “crazy,” highlighting it as his most significant indoor platform to date, despite having performed at larger outdoor venues.
“It’s highly possible… If we come together and put something together, I think it’s possible.
“Who wouldn’t like to play the O2? I would love to play the O2. But everything for me is step-by-step. You have to move from A before you go to B. You don’t just go because everyone is saying it. You have to build it. Make sure that your core audience is a part of the process. Because for me, it’s really about the journey more than the destination,” he said.
He emphasized the need for a thoughtful approach, focusing on the journey rather than just the destination, indicating that while performing at the O2 Arena is a dream, he wants to ensure it’s done right with the right support and planning in place.
“I would love to play the O2. I’ve performed at the O2 three times already. I know how it feels, but there are so many other things that we’re trying to get done and eventually do the O2 as well.
“It’s grand. It’s crazy. It’s huge. It’s probably the biggest indoor platform I’ve ever performed on. I’ve done festivals which are, like, way bigger, but not indoors,” he said.
