In a spectacular achievement, acclaimed Afrobeats sensation Davido, also known as David Adeleke, has once again accomplished a sold-out feat at the iconic O2 Arena in London.
The confirmation came via a post on X (formerly Twitter) by “The O2”, announcing that the multi-award-winning artist has successfully sold out the renowned venue in anticipation of his concert on January 28.
Scheduled as the grand finale of his “Timeless Tour,” Davido’s headline event at the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena on January 28, 2024, marks a triumphant return to the historic venue.
Notably, this performance follows his groundbreaking achievement in 2019 when he became the first Nigerian solo artist to sell out the O2 Arena.
Initiated in 2023 after the release of Davido’s record-breaking fourth album, ‘Timeless,’ the tour has garnered widespread acclaim.
However, Davido’s ambitions extend beyond sold-out arenas, as he has been nominated for three Grammys: Best African Song Performance (‘Unavailable’), Best Global Song Performance (‘Feel’), and Best Global Album (‘Timeless’).
A victory in these categories would not only be a personal triumph for Davido but also a historic moment for Afrobeats, propelling him further into the international spotlight.
Since its release, ‘Timeless’ has consistently garnered millions of streams across various music platforms, solidifying Davido’s status as a global music icon.
