Cardi B, the American rapper, has officially filed for divorce from her husband, rapper Offset.
According to The Associated Press, a spokesperson for Cardi B has verified the news, stating,
“This is not based on any one particular incident, it has been a long time coming and is amicable.”
Amidst speculations about her divorce, Cardi B in an Instagram post did not directly comment about the news rather she posted a photo of her on a rooftop, holding her stomach to reveal a baby bump.
“With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power,” she wrote in the caption.
“It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
Cardi B, born Belcalis Almanzar, and Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, share two children: their 6-year-old daughter Kulture and their 2-year-old son Wave.
The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony on September 20, 2017, in Atlanta and revealed their marriage to the public a month later.
In 2020, Cardi B sought a divorce from Offset, citing that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
