BOST’s Augustine Appiah named HR Business Leader of the Decade

A respected figure in the realm of Human Resources and Administration, Augustine Appiah, has secured a notable distinction at the esteemed National Governance & Business Leadership Awards (NGBLA) 2023.

The accomplished General Manager of Bulk Oil Storage & Transportation Company Limited (BOST) has earned the coveted title of HR Business Leader of the Decade.

In addition to this remarkable accolade, Mr. Appiah’s influence and impact have earned him a place among Ghana’s Top 20 Influential HR Business Leaders.

His extensive career spanning nearly twenty years has encompassed diverse experiences in both domestic and international settings, enriching his expertise through collaboration with industry luminaries across sectors like Telecommunications, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), and Oil & Gas.

Within his role at BOST, Mr. Appiah adeptly oversees a substantial workforce comprising nearly 600 employees.

His leadership responsibilities extend to pivotal strategic functions within the company, encompassing essential areas such as staffing strategies, labor relations, talent development, compensation, change management, organizational effectiveness, and HR governance.

These efforts coalesce to foster the company’s sustainable growth trajectory.

One of Mr. Appiah’s notable strengths is his ability to cultivate harmonious relationships. His adept leadership has facilitated productive engagements between union leaders and management, resulting in a conducive, secure, and efficient work environment.

Beyond his administrative accomplishments, Mr. Appiah possesses a wealth of expertise as an Organizational Psychologist, Certified Executive Coach, Balanced Scorecard Champion, and Senior HR Consultant.

This commendation of Mr. Appiah’s invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to excellence transpired during the 3rd edition of the NGBLA event, held on August 4, 2023, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

In recognition of his achievements, Mr. Appiah received a well-deserved award plaque and a citation, commending his exemplary dedication and accomplishments.

In tandem with Mr. Appiah’s distinction, the Bulk Oil Storage & Transportation Company Limited was honored for their innovative workplace design, receiving the accolade for the “Most Innovative Workplace Design.”

The event was themed “Transformational Leadership: Passion, Vision & Strategic Management for Development.”
