Entertainment journalist Kobby Kyei fulfilled a long-standing ambition by appearing on The Delay Show on June 29, 2024.
He expressed his admiration for Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay), highlighting her profound impact on the entertainment industry over the years.
“I told you I’d come on your show. That was about four years ago. And I’m here. I’m humbled,” Kobby Kyei remarked gratefully upon being welcomed. He praised Delay’s consistency and influence, stating, “Your consistency is remarkable; the impact you’ve made is unparalleled.”
During the interview, Kobby Kyei shared his aspiration to be featured in Delay’s future documentary, saying, “I envisaged that if I come on your show, in the future, if anyone is looking for a documentary, your interviews will pop up.” His heartfelt comments visibly moved Delay, reflecting the mutual respect between them.
Delay, renowned for her adept interviewing skills and composed demeanor, began her broadcasting career in 1999 at Life FM in Nkawkaw, Eastern Region.
Transitioning to Top Radio in Accra in 2005, she hosted a mid-morning show until 2007. From 2007 to 2016, she contributed to Oman FM before launching her own television show, ‘The Delay Show,’ in 2008, which continues to captivate audiences.
Recognized with numerous awards, including TV Female Presenter of the Year at the RTP Awards 2023 and the Most Outstanding Woman award at GOWA 2020, Delay also received the Excellence in Media award at the 2023 Ghana Women of the Year Honors.
