Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, has praised Vinicius Junior as one of the best players in the world right now and questioned why the Brazilian wasn’t included in the FIFPRO eleven for 2023.
After watching the 22-year-old Brazilian forward play against Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal on Tuesday, Tebas was in awe of the player’s extraordinary talent.
Vini will likely be the next Real Madrid player to win the Ballon d’Or as a result of his accomplishments, the La Liga manager has predicted, according to AS Soccer.
“He is one of the best players in the world. It surprised me that he wasn’t in the FIFPRO XI or in the debate for the Ballon d’Or. He is up there with the three or four best players in the world, and he will win the Ballon d’Or.”
The Brazilian has scored a total of 23 goals this season for Real Madrid, and will be expected to play a crucial role in the Champions League reverse fixture against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
Carragher backs Vini as best
Meanwhile, Liverpool legend and TV pundit, Jamie Carragher said Real Madrid star, Vini has the potential to become the best player in the world, Tribal Football reports.
The former Reds man believes the Brazilian forward is currently one of the top five players in the world, considering his form for reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid.
Vinicius scored a stunning goal to give Real Madrid the lead in their UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg against Manchester City earlier this month.
