Erling Haaland: City’s ‘goal machine’ misses penalty, but vindicates himself with a goal

Erling Haaland missed his first penalty in a Manchester City shirt during Bayern Munich’s clash.

Since moving from the Bundesliga to the Premier League, the Norwegian has been a threat for the Cityzens, scoring an incredible 48 goals in 41 appearances.

He reenacted Lionel Messi’s move against Jerome Boateng on Wednesday, seating Dayot Upamecano before scoring against Bayern Munich, according to Sportstar.

He then scored his 12th Champions League goal.

His goal will be neutralized by a spot kick from Joshua Kimmich, but it proved to be a case of much ado about nothing as City ran out 4-1 winners across two legs, advancing to the Champions League semifinal.

But before his sublime skill and then a goal in the 57th minute, Haaland failed to put away a penalty, Fan Nation reports.

The 22-year-old has been flawless from 12 yards for Man City but proved he is human after all, ballooning his effort – which was his first penalty miss in eight attempts.

Since moving to the Etihad, he has found the net seven times from the penalty spot.

Haaland sits Upamecano down

Erling Haaland picked Dayot Upamecano apart before notching his 12th Champions League goal as Manchester City advanced to the semifinal of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, Sports Brief reported.

The Norwegian’s goal helped City reach the last four with an aggregate scoreline of 4-1, booking a tantalizing date with record holders Real Madrid, who bundled Chelsea out of the competition the previous day.
