Enzo on Chelsea’s radar while Gunners chase Caicedo

In order to finalize a stunning signing for Enzo Fernandez before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, Chelsea is reportedly back at the negotiation table.

The Portuguese powerhouses turned down a £70 million offer from the Blues earlier this month for their Argentine World Cup hero, but they’re willing to go even higher to close the deal.

The West Londoners, according to The Telegraph, have put out two fresh ideas in an effort to land their eighth signing of the January transfer window.

Stamford Bridge executives have proposed paying £85 million for the 22-year-old in exchange for letting one of their players join Benfica. They are also willing to pay Fernandez’s £105 million release clause in installments.

It remains to be seen if the Eagles will be persuaded by either of the latest offers given that they previously insisted that his clause be fulfilled in full.

Personal conditions could be agreed upon late in the transfer window because Fernandez is thought to be eager on joining the Premier League team.

Brighton have rejected a second offer from Arsenal worth £65m plus £5m in add-ons for wantaway midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Sky Sports say the Seagulls are adamant the 21-year-old will not be sold before Tuesday’s deadline despite the player’s apparent desire to move to the Premier League leaders.

The Ecuador international pleaded with the South Coast club to allow him to leave in a revealing Instagram post over the weekend.

He said: “My dream [was] always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador.

“The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”

It is indicated that Caicedo has been told to stay away from Brighton’s training ground as they look to avoid losing their second player to the North London club this window following Leandro Trossard’s £27m switch.
