Ghanaian songstress Wendy Asiamah Addo known popularly as Wendy Shay sheds light on the plight of music icons, emphasizing the need for enhanced support and acknowledgment within the industry.

Wendy Shay’s concern for the inadequate structure within the music industry led her to visit KK Kabobo, where she donated GH₵10,000 and appealed for additional assistance on behalf of the struggling artist.

Expressing her sorrow, Wendy Shay asserted that the absence of a rewarding industry framework for those who contributed significantly hindered the growth and development of music in Ghana.

She highlighted the disparity in opportunities between the current generation of musicians and their predecessors like KK Kabobo.

“If, at that time, they had what we are enjoying today, I think they would have been fine because he had monster hit songs. And it’s just sad that we are now catching up,” Wendy Shay lamented.

Advocating for public support, Wendy Shay urged citizens to rally behind KK Kabobo and other veteran musicians encountering challenges.

Additionally, she called upon authorities to establish a system ensuring the welfare and recognition of Ghana’s esteemed music legends.
KK Kabobo, a revered Highlife musician and ordained Reverend Minister, is currently battling liver disease and requires financial assistance for treatment.
