President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has affirmed his commitment to a smooth and peaceful transfer of power, vowing to hand over leadership to the winner of Ghana’s 2024 general elections as determined by the electorate.
Addressing the gathering at the Anlo Hogbetsotso Za festival on November 2, Akufo-Addo emphasised his dedication to ensuring that the December 7 elections will be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful.
He also extended his gratitude to the chiefs and people of Anlo for their consistent support and prayers throughout his presidency, recognizing their role in maintaining stability.
Additionally, he expressed heartfelt appreciation to Ghanaians nationwide for upholding peace during his administration.
“As we all know, without peace, there can be no proper development. The peace we are currently enjoying is the peace that we will carry through to the elections on 7th December.
“I want to assure the people of Anlo, the people of the Volta region, and the people of Ghana that the elections, the forthcoming elections in December, are going to be free, fair, transparent, and peaceful.
“And on the 7th of December, I will hand over the baton of national leadership to whoever the people of Ghana choose to succeed me.”
