Former Ghana international, John Paintsil has implored the technical team of the Black Stars to free Thomas Partey against South Korea.
The Arsenal midfielder was taken to the cleaners following Ghana’s 3-2 defeat to Portugal in their Group H opener on Thursday afternoon.
Partey is expected to make Ghana’s squad for the second group game against the Asian side.
However, Paintsil speaking to Graphic Sports pleaded with the technical team to free Partey.
“I believe going into this game, the coach is going to release Partey more than the last time,” the former West Ham defender said.
Partey was doing very well even though we did not see him a lot more on the ball, but there was a job that was given to him.
So, for me, if we release him to go and do his own thing, he is a box-to-box midfielder and I believe the technical men will do that,” he added.
The game has been scheduled to kick off at 13:00GMT at the Education City Stadium.
