Show us what you have to offer – Ten Hag challenges United’s youngsters

Erik ten Hag has thrown a challenge to Manchester United’s young players, telling them they have a “fantastic” opportunity to make a mark at the team’s training camp in Spain.

A number of Ten Hag’s players are still competing for their countries at the World Cup, and United is one of several Premier League teams that have gone abroad for midseason training camps.

Twelve United players are still present in Qatar going into the quarterfinals, and Ten Hag will probably make lineup adjustments due to the short turnaround before the Premier League season resumes later this month.

“We have a lot of young players with us and they have to support us – they can show us what they have to offer, what their capabilities are and what their potential is and if you can use them, if they have a future,” he told MUTV.

“I think it’s a great opportunity for them. Normally we don’t have this break and now we have this break.

“Many players are at the World Cup, so there are positions available and they can get used in these positions.

“They can show themselves and they can challenge players who play in the Premier League [games], so it’s fantastic for them.”

On December 21, United will play Burnley in the EFL Cup, and six days later, they will play Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
