Real Madrid’s 21-year-old midfielder, Eduardo Camavinga, sustained a right knee injury while training with the French national team, as confirmed by the La Liga club on Friday.
The diagnosis revealed a “rupture of the external lateral ligament” in Camavinga’s right knee, and Real Madrid has not provided an estimated timeline for his return.
This injury further compounds Real’s challenges, as Camavinga, who has featured in every league game this season, now joins the ranks of Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, and Arda Guler as Real players dealing with knee injuries.
The setback for Camavinga comes on the heels of winger Vinicius Jr being forced off with a thigh injury during Brazil’s 2-1 loss to Colombia on Thursday, adding to Real Madrid’s concerns on the injury front.
Real are second in La Liga with 32 points from 13 matches. They play Cadiz in their next league game on Nov. 26, after the international break.
