Following Sekhukhune United’s victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the South African Premier League, Ghanaian player Edwin Gyimah’s spooky dance moves went viral on social media.
At the Peter Mokoba Stadium, Sekhukhune shocked Kaizer Chiefs when the 32-year-old, who also plays defence, played the full match.
Gyimah energetically swung his body while making gestures that implied Chiefs had been defeated in a video that has now gone popular on social media.
Gyimah has spent most of his career in South Africa, playing for the likes of SuperSport United, Black Aces, Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and Black Leopards.
He had a short stint in Sweden, where he played for Helsingborg before returning to South Africa.
This season, the former Sekondi Hasaacas star has made 22 appearances in the league as Sekhukhune push for a top four finish.
Gyimah has been capped ten times by the senior national team of Ghana.
Chiefs poor discipline record continues
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that since the start of the Premier Soccer League in 1996, no team has had as many of its opponents sent off in a season as Kaizer Chiefs in the current campaign.
No less than nine players have been red-carded while trying to keep the Amakhosi at bay.
This has led to whispers and shouting about the merit of these dismissals, with many accusing referees of being biased in Kaizer Chiefs’ favour.
Sundwons return to winning ways
Following a run of three consecutive stalemates, Mamelodi Sundowns returned to winning ways in the DStv Premiership this week following their 1-0 victory against Richards Bay at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday afternoon.
Sundowns settled early and stroked the ball around with ease during the first five minutes of the game.
While Downs looked comfortable, Richards Bay provided no real threat in the opposition half and was reduced to defending their own quarters as a result of Sundowns’ early possession.
