Godfred Saka ready to join Hearts or Kotoko

Former Aduana Stars and Karela United defender, Godfred Saka, has issued a come-get-me plea to the two biggest clubs in the country, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko, following the expiry of his contract with Karela.
Saka, whose deal with Karela United ran out this month, said he was available to join either a local or foreign club after his one-year contract ended.

Saka joined the Premiership’s new entrants Karela from Aduana Stars after winning the Ghana Premier League with the Dormaa Ahenkro-based club, but his playing time with the club was cut short following the suspension organized leagues in the country seven months ago in the aftermath of an exposé on widespread corruption in Ghana football.

After a promising start, Karela’s woes appear to have deepened following the death of their millionaire owner, David Brigidi, with the club rumoured to be on the market looking for new buyers or investors.

Saka told the Graphic Sportsonline on Friday that he fancied a move to either of the traditional giants, Hearts or Kotoko, but was yet to receive offers from suitors.

“I’m officially done with Karela because my contract with them has ended. I am ready to play for either a local or foreign-based club.

“I am hoping to sign for either Kotoko or Hearts should any of them approach me because I believe I have what it takes to play at the highest level,” he said.

The defender has been one of the most outstanding players in the domestic league in the last four years and has often been linked to Hearts and Kotoko each season.
