A report by Kathryn Batte in the Daily Mail shows that Taylor is on the verge of signing a new long-term contract until the end of the 2026–27 season.
City is reportedly satisfied with the progress made under the 51-year-old manager this season and is eager to secure his services with a new deal sooner rather than later.
Taylor faced scrutiny last season after City finished outside the top three in the WSL for the first time since their debut top-flight season in 2014, following significant player turnover in the summer of 2022.
Despite this, he was granted a new one-year deal for the 2023–24 season.
The club’s patience has paid off, with City currently trailing only behind Chelsea in the WSL table due to a slightly inferior goal difference.
Taylor’s team has impressively won their last 12 consecutive games across all competitions.
In addition to challenging Chelsea for the WSL title, City are set to face them in the Conti Cup semi-finals this Thursday, having recently defeated them in the league.
Following this, they will take on Tottenham in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday. With their current form, there’s a strong possibility that City could secure a domestic treble by the end of the 2023–24 season.
