The father of Caleb Farley, the Tennessee Titans cornerback, tragically lost his life overnight when Caleb’s $3 million home in Mooresville exploded just before midnight.
The deceased individual has been identified as Robert Matthews Farley, whose body was discovered amidst the debris. He was 61 years old and was reportedly residing in the home at the time of the explosion.
Fortunately, Caleb Farley was not harmed in the explosion, though it remains unclear whether he was present at home when it occurred. Reports indicate that he visited the site on Tuesday and was in contact with authorities.

Another male individual, a second victim, was seen leaving the house when emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after midnight. This victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, although their identity has not been disclosed.
Neighbors reported smelling gas and hearing a “loud explosion” shortly before midnight.
Queen City News reports the cause is under investigation but “there is no evidence of foul play.”

According to TMZ: “The current focus of the probe is centering around the home’s natural gas lines.”
The residence, spanning 6,391 square feet, along with several adjacent vehicles, suffered irreparable destruction. The house, valued at over $3 million, was completely demolished.
Caleb Farley was chosen by the Titans as the 22nd overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In his initial two NFL seasons, he participated in 12 games, accumulating a total of 14 tackles.
