Brighton put four past slow Tottenham

Tottenham’s bid for a Premier League comeback was abruptly halted as injury-plagued Brighton secured a resounding 4-2 victory, featuring two Joao Pedro penalties and a spectacular strike from Pervis Estupinan.

Spurs, aiming for a fourth consecutive top-flight win to reclaim fourth place from Manchester City, faltered against Brighton’s offensive onslaught.

Despite late goals from Alejo Veliz and Ben Davies, Tottenham faced the possibility of a more significant defeat, with Brighton hitting the woodwork twice and having a Facundo Buonanotte effort disallowed.

This loss raises doubts about Tottenham’s Champions League qualification aspirations under manager Ange Postecoglou.
