Caleb Ekuban has been named in Black Stars‘ provisional squad for the 2022 World Cup.
Head coach for the side, Otto Addo has announced a 55-man provisional squad for the Mundial scheduled to kick off from November 20 to December 18.
Ekuban has struggled to return to the national team for the past four years.
The former Leeds United striker on March 2019 earned represent Ghana in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ekuban scored his first competitive goal for the Black Stars of Ghana on his debut against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in an AFCON Qualifier on 23 March 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Since then, the former Chievo Verona forward has not earned a call-up to the national team.
Ekuban has however made a total of six appearances for Genoa in the ongoing Serie B campaign and has scored just once in the process.
Meanwhile, Otto Addo is expected to name his final 26-man squad for the tournament on November 14.
Ghana, who are making their fourth appearance at the global showpiece has been housed in Group H.
The Black Stars will open their campaign against Portugal on November 24 at Stadium 974 in Doha.
Four days later, the Black Stars return to action with a clash with South Korea at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.
Ghana will wrap up their group stage adventure with their much-anticipated encounter with Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will officially open camp on November 10 in Abu Dhabi and will take on Switzerland on November 17.
