School feeding settles all arrears to caterers

The Greater Accra Regional Coordinator of school feeding programme, Christiana-Lovia Nkansah, says the secretariat has settled all arrears to caterers.

A third of the number is, however, in the process of being paid in order to ensure the smooth feeding for pupils under the programme.

Using her jurisdiction as an example, Mrs Nkansah commended the caterers for the zeal with which they have started this term.

She told Adom FM that her monitoring since the school reopened shows that only one out of 800 schools had not started feeding the pupils.

She added that all caterers who have payment challenges should visit the school feeding secretariat for it to be resolved.

A school feeding caterer at La Madina-Nkwantanang Basic School, Yaa Douduwaa, applauded the School Feeding Secretariat for increasing the feeding fee to GHC1 and also organizing training for caterers across the country for the first on nutrition and food hygiene.
