Samuel Tetteh disappointed with Europa Cup elimination

Ghana winger Samuel Tetteh has expressed disappointment over LASK Linz’s elimination in the UEFA Europa Cup qualifiers.

The former WAFA winger saw 80 minutes of action as LASK defeated Turkish giants Besiktas 2-1 but were eliminated on away goal rule after both legs ended in a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.

Having lost 1-0 in Turkey a week ago, the home side started the game on a positive note, with Joao Victor putting LASK in the lead on 42 minutes.

The Austrians, continued to dominate and in the second half, Dominik Friesser doubled the lead with 20 minutes to end the game.

With qualification almost sealed for the home side, former Manchester City forward Alvaro Negredo popped up to silence the home crowd with a ninetieth minute consolation goal.

Negredo’s goal broke the hearts of LASK players and fans and Ghana winger Samuel Tetteh expressed disappointment over their exit from the competition.

He posted,” Still hurts, but better days ahead.

Tetteh and his teammates will now have to switch their attention to the Austrian Bundesliga, where they face Rapid Wien on Sunday.
