The central bank recently merged five banks after their licenses were revoked for various forms of violations merging them to become what is now known as the Consolidated Bank of Ghana Limited.
The affected banks include; BEIGE, Sovereign, Construction, UniBank and Royal Banks.

According to Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta and the NPP government is treating Dr. Kwabena Duffour as an enemy as far as the collapse of Unibank is concerned.
“I want to warn the Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta that his Databank cannot survive under a new NDC government. NDC will collapse Databank as the NPP government has deliberately collapsed Unibank†he warned on the show hosted by Kwame Adinkra.
