He revealed that his reelection campaign message, “Forward Ever Backward Never” was inspired by a statement from Kwame Nkrumah, first President of Ghana.

He called for Ghanaians to come together and understand that his office is opened to them always.

The Consul General of the Consulate General of Ghana in New York, Professor Samuel Amoako in his address admonished the people to be united, “we need unity at home and in the diaspora. In the diaspora, we need unity among individuals, we need unity among Associations and we need unity among our Chiefs. If we unite it will be easy and extremely efficient and productive to deal with State and City Institutions and access the help and support that we need and deserve as Ghanaians. It will equally be easy to interact with our Missions, Embassies and Consulates General. With Unity, we will speak with one voice”. The Consul General said.

He also used the occasion to end the feud that ensues in organising this event and said, “today will be the last time the Flag raising ceremony will be initiated by any individual or organization. Flag raising is a political activity. Henceforth, this political ceremony will be the responsibility of the new Council, The United Ghanaian Council of New Jersey. I will hold the executives of the Council who will be elected responsible for this ceremony among others, and I know they will not let me down”.

The event was well attended by traditional and opinion leaders in the Ghanaian Community in New Jersey.
