‘I need your support’ – Actor Joseph Hergurson on drug addiction

Acclaimed actor Joseph Hergurson, renowned for his roles in popular Ghanaian series such as ‘Stryke‘ and ‘Rumour House,’ has made a heartfelt plea to the public for support as he battles drug addiction.

In an emotional interview with Adwene Media on June 5, Hergurson revealed his struggle with cocaine addiction over the past two years, admitting that his substance abuse began in earnest in 2022.

Hergurson shared that his addiction has had a devastating impact on both his personal life and professional career. “I’ve been on drugs, I have been a drug addict for a while now.

This is my current state, I want to go to rehab and change my life. I need your support, love, attention, and care,” he appealed emotionally. He confessed that he had been using drugs to cope with stress and the feeling that his career was not progressing as he had hoped.

Despite achieving significant success and being featured in major productions by Farmhouse, Shirley Frimpong’s Perfect Picture, and the ‘Dede’ series, Hergurson disclosed that he squandered his earnings on his addiction.

The actor, now unrecognizable and visibly impacted by his addiction, expressed his deep regret and disappointment. He apologized to his fans, colleagues, and directors, expressing his desire to make amends and rebuild his career.

Hergurson announced his decision to enter rehabilitation at the Chosen Rehab Centre in Achimota, seeking to turn his life around. He earnestly called for support in all forms to help him through this challenging time, hoping to emerge stronger and more focused on his craft.

Joseph Hergurson’s story is a poignant reminder of the personal battles that can lie behind public success, and his openness about his struggles has sparked a wave of support from fans and the entertainment industry alike.
