The recently appointed Managing Director of the National Investment Bank (NIB), Tweneboa Kodua Fokuo, has emphasized that his concurrent role as a Parliamentary Candidate will not impede his official responsibilities at the bank.

Mr. Fokuo’s appointment has sparked controversy, particularly from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), who question the Bank of Ghana’s decision to endorse a Parliamentary Candidate as the CEO of a financially struggling state bank during an election year.

However, in an interview on Joy FM on Monday, Mr. Fokuo reiterated his commitment to fulfilling his duties at NIB.

He affirmed that he has never allowed his political engagements to overshadow his obligations at the bank, except during his personal time.

“I have no challenges in managing my time between ensuring the bank is run properly and also doing my duties at my leisure time as a P.C. There has not been a time that I have had a challenge in running these duties,” Mr. Fokuo opined.
