The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako Atta, has said work on the Madina-Adenta highway will commence as soon as possible.
Speaking Wednesday on the Super Morning Show, Kwasi Amoako Atta stated that government is taking steps to ensure that contractors come back to complete the footbridges.

“Government is renegotiating the deal with the contractors so they can start work,†he told Daniel Dadzie host of the show.
He explained the contractors started work in 2015 but and abandoned it because of lack of payment.
In 2018, 194 people have died on the Madina-Adenta highway as at Monday.

On the Super Morning Show on November 5, the Director of Bridges at the Ghana Highways Authority, Yaqub Koray, revealed that the footbridges on parts of the Madina-Adenta highway will be fixed by end of 2019.

The Minister for Roads and Highways, however, said he cannot confirm when the bridges will be completed.
Mr. Amoako Atta stated that he is not privy to information on recent issues and promised to make a public statement after cabinet completes deals that need to be done.
