I gave Koku an option to be my deputy or contest me – Nketiah

General Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has said he recently gave his Deputy Secretary, Koku Anyidoho an opportunity to either contest him or serve him as deputy.

Reacting to a story published by Rainbowradionline.com about him sending a delegation to go and beg him (Anyidoho) to step down, he refuted it.

Mr Nketiah rather revealed Mr Anyidoho in the company some seven elders of the party, came to is residence recently to apologize for claiming he was blessed by him (Nketiah) to contest the position because he was no longer interested.

General Mosquito as he is affectionately called denied ever blessing Koku Anyidoho and asking him to contest the chief scribe position.

He told Kwabena Agyapong Tuesday on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, he has not asked Koku to step down for him rather he (Anyidoho) recently visited him and gave the option to continue serving as his Deputy but he chose to contest me.

He has cautioned people to stop peddling lies about him in relations to the contest or face his wrath. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah is seeking re-election as General Secretary of the party.

He was optimistic of victory and was not afraid of anyone contesting him because in the past, he has faced opposition from others but emerged as winner after results are declared.
