The Municipal Chief Executive of Obuasi in the Ashanti Region, Elijah Adansi Bonah, has entreated people accusing him of inflating the cost of projects of the assembly to go to court, and stop tarnishing his hard-won reputation.
He expressed surprise about why his accusers are not proceeding to court but rather resorting to radio and social media to run him down.

Speaking on the Kumasi Morning Show on Kumasi 104.1FM hosted by Akwesi Agudey on Tuesday, 25 September 2018, Mr Bonah said: “My hands are clean and I have no hand in any foul deal”.
The MCE has been accused by some assembly members and residents of the municipality of inflating the cost of projects.
Notable among the accusers is the assembly member for Kunka electoral area, Mr Stephen Osei.

He has accused the MCE of using an amount of GHS130,000 in constructing a fence wall around his residence and using GHS71,312.40 to refurbish a 4.70-km road from Mamiwira to Abaamu, among other allegations.
Mr Osei insisted on the same programme that the MCE inflated the cost of the projects.
Also, an ordinary resident, Kingsford Boakye, accused the MCE of spending GHS198,000 to paint a building.
The assembly, according to the MCE, however, has set up a committee to probe the matter.
He suspects his detractors are up to no good.
